A pickup truck (also known as a bakkie or ute) is a light motor vehicle with an open-top rear cargo area (bed) which is almost always separated from the cab to allow for chassis flex when carrying or pulling heavy loads. Pickups can also be modified with a mounted weapon, giving them combat capability.

Uses[]

Cargo carry[]

Pickup Trucks have an average cargo capacity, lower than a truck but higher than cars. Cargo placed in the rear cargo area is will be subjected to the elements without coverings.

Patrol[]

Pickups are good for patrols because of moderate speed, great shooting platform (although moving) and their durability.

Technical[]

A technical is any vehicle with a mounted weapon, along pickup trucks are well known for this ability. Technicals are regularly improvised, but purpose made technicals are found in more advanced armies. Technicals are used by less-advanced armies and militant groups. Against zombies, technicals are moderately effective as the vibration of the vehicle leaves sniping difficult. Without protection, a gunner could easily be snatched from the vehicle by the undead.

In the aftermath, technicals will be used by bandits and emerging nations and their militaries who do not have Tanks or armoured vehicles.
