Almost nothing is known about Sophia's life prior to the outbreak; she may have been living in the city of Atlanta during her lifetime along with her family. It is unknown if she was a victim of domestic abuse from her father, Ed since he was abusive towards her mother. However, Carol did say when she was praying for Sophia that her father touched her. During the outbreak, she meets Shane, Lori, and Carl as evacuations are being made for survivors to head towards Atlanta. With the city being destroyed by the military, she, along with her family, decided to stay with Shane and Lori.

Sophia Peletier is one of the few remaining survivors of the original Atlanta band and is a young blonde girl who survived with her mother Carol.

All that is known about Sophia's life before the zombie apocalypse is that she was the daughter of Ed and Carol Peletier.
Post-Apocalypse[]
After her father committed suicide, Sophia was taken by Carol to see her aunt in Atlanta. The two could not make it into the city, so they stayed at Dale's camp that he and Andrea and Amy had set up. Also at the camp were a man named Glenn, and a family of four with twin sons that were Sophia's age. Sophia spent most of her time at the camp playing with the twin boys Ben and Billy until a woman named Lori Grimes showed up at camp with her son, and a family friend.Sadly later on in the series, she dies on the farm
